Raised Floor Testing
Raised Access Floor Testing - Raised floors are now standard to cope with the huge increase of new buildings catering directly for environmental elements - air conditioning etc - as well as larger demands on proper space and laying facilties for computer cabling, telephony cabling etc.
The installation of RAISED ACCESS or PLATFORM FLOORING provides an under floor void for the use of computer cabling, air conditioning ducting and other modern services. (State of the art air conditioning systems utilize the plenum to effect considerable operational economies and improved office environment.) B.I.T.S. are experts in data hall floor inspections and computer room floors inspections.
It's important to note that air leakage from the plenum has to be controlled to within certain limits to ensure the efficiency of air conditioning systems and requires an air leakage measurement service to confirm optimal performance and conditions. B.I.T.S. performs air plenum testing and air-leakage testing to ensure your systems work efficiently.
B.I.T.S. has the acknowledged expert in the field, who has been in the forefront of developments of this product since his predominant input into the original PSA specification over 20 years ago. They are also a UKAS accredited laboratory and a Construction Products Directive Nominated body.
Hygrothermal Testing forms part of the testing for Raised Access Floors within the PSA MOB PF2 PS/SPU March 1992 Specification for Raised Access Floors. Hygrothermal Testing checks the dimensional stability of floor panels when subjected to low and elevated temperatures and humidity - the sorts of conditions you would find in data halls and computer centres.
Part of our Raised Floor testing expertise is in Air Terminal Devices. The most common Air Terminal Device associated with Raised Access Floor is the 600mm by 600mm aluminium grille. This consists of a number of aluminium vanes or blades fitted within an aluminium frame with a diffuser beneath.
The new performance specification for Air Grilles in Raised Access Floors is BS EN 13264 are based around those in the PSA MOB PF2 PS/SPU March 1992 Specification. BITS are experts in this field and can advise on the testing which is appropriate to your installation.
The PSA MOB PF2 PS/SPU Specification is not a British Standard or European Standard but was developed by the Property Services Agency. It is recognised withibn the UK as the Premier Performance Standard foe Raised Access Floors.
